On March 26-th, 2014 the Ambassador of Ukraine to Qatar Mr. Yevhen Mykytenko initiatively met with the Foreign Minister`s Assistant for foreign affairs of Qatar Mr.Mohammed Al Rumaihi .

During the meeting the parties discussed the current state of Ukrainian-Qatari cooperation in political, economic, energy, cultural and humanitarian spheres, having emphasized the importance of expanding bilateral legal framework in such domains as medicine, education, science, tourism etc.

The sides also discussed in detail the relevant international and regional issues.

Special attention of the Qatari official was drawn to the Ukraine`s official stand as to the illegitimate actions of Russia in the Crimea contradictorily to a number of bilateral and multilateral agreements and arrangements that led to the occupation of the Ukrainian peninsula by Russian troops.

Attention has been also paid to the importance of strict adherence of the international community to the fundamental principles of international law during the debates scheduled for March 27-th, 2014 over the Ukrainian issue in the UN General Assembly in New York.
