The cultural and humanitarian sphere is one of the important areas of deepening the Ukrainian-Qatari cooperation.
Various creative and artistic groups of Ukraine as well as famous Ukrainian athletes, representatives of the National Teams of Ukraine in different kinds of sport, who participate in international cultural and sport events, regularly visit Doha.
n October 2019, the Embassy of Ukraine in Qatar launched classes of Ukrainian language and Ukrainian studies for the kids-Ukrainian citizens living in Qatar. These classes are conducted by Ukrainian teachers from our community in Qatar, who have agreed to join such a project on a volunteer basis
In January 2020, the Ukrainian Institute was granted full membership in the General Assembly of the Global Network on Public Diplomacy and established partnerships with the leading Qatari institution in this field - Katara Cultural Village.
In September 2020, a new permanent cultural and artistic platform was launched in Qatar - the virtual museum "Ukraine: Art of the New Age". Its purpose is to properly present in Qatar and acquaint the Qatari audience with modern Ukraine, the achievements of Ukrainian art and the creative work of domestic artists.
In April 2021, a Memorandum of Understanding on the launching of the Ukrainian-language audio guide in the museums of the State of Qatar was signed. The Memorandum became the first ever of its kind with a Middle East and North Africa state, and Ukrainian language will be the first foreign language, in addition to English, to be heard in the museums of the State of Qatar.
The field of tourism remains important in terms of cultural and humanitarian cooperation, since with launching direct flights between Doha and Kyiv in August 2017 and entry into force of a bilateral intergovernmental agreement on mutual abolition of visa requirements on November 2, 2018, the number of Ukrainian tourists in Qatar has increased significantly.
