On June 17, 2015 the Ambassador of Ukraine Mr.Yevhen Mykytenko met and held talks with the Minister of Education of Qatar H.E. Mr.Mohammed Al Hammadi, during which wide range of issues of cooperation in the scientific, academic and research fields was discussed.

Attention of the Qatari Minister was drawn to the opportunities and Ukraine`s considerable record in field of training of foreign students in such specialties as medicine, pharmacy, engineering, international relations, foreign languages, physical culture and sports, and others.

In addition, the sides stressed the need to intensify contacts between research centers and scientific and technological parks of Ukraine and Qatar by identifying the most promising areas of cooperation between them, followed by the signing direct agreements on cooperation.

It was also stressed on the great practical benefit of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Taras Shevchenko State university and the "University of Qatar", which is to be signed before the end of this year.
