On March 29-th, 2016 in the capital of Qatar (Doha) the Fifth International Maritime Exhibition «DIMDEX-2016" was opened. Traditionally it takes place under the patronage of Emir of Qatar H.H. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani .

This year the event brings together delegations from 58 countries and 180 companies. The largest pavilions belong to Germany, Turkey, UK, USA, Italy and France.  For the first time ever, with the assistance of the Embassy of Ukraine, Ukrainian companies and enterprises are represented by a number of booths.
Within «DIMDEX-2016" a Conference on Maritime Security in the Middle East and North Africa is also taking place. Warships from Morocco, Italy and India have arrived to Doha sea port for demonstrations.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of Ukraine H.E. Mr. Yevhen Mykytenko and Ukrainian embassy staff.
Ambassador held brief talks with a number of Qatari high-ranking officials, particularly the Minister of State for Defence (photo 1).
