On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Chernobyl accident the Ambassador to Ukraine to Qatar H.E. Mr.Yevhen Mykytenko and embassy staff attended the memorial service for the victims of the worst  technological catastrophe of the twentieth century.
The service, conducted simultaneously in Arabic, English, Greek, Latin and Serbian languages, was held in the Orthodox church of Qatar diocese and was led by Archbishop of Qatar Makarius who served a prayer for the rest of souls of all who died as a result of the Chernobyl tragedy, and wished peace and prosperity to the Ukrainian people.
He also invited all Orthodox Qatar residents on May 1, 2016 to come to the temple to take part in  celebrations on the occasion of Easter.
