Ukrainian envoy interview to the Qatari "Al-Watan"

One of the leading Qatari newspaper "Al-Watan" in the holiday issue dedicated to the "Eid al-Fitr" holiday, which comes after the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, published an interview with the Ambassador of Ukraine to Qatar H.E. Mr.Yevhen Mykytenko.

The ukrainian diplomat congratulated the people of Qatar and the country's leadership with this event and wished further success in building the country as well as peace and prosperity.

In addition, Arab readers were updated on the situation related to Muslims of Ukraine and, paricularily, the Crimean Tatar population of our country and the diaspora of immigrants from Arab countries who reside in Ukraine. It was noted that in Ukraine there are about 2 million Muslims, of which over 20,000 are communities of immigrants from Syria, Palestine, Iraq, Jordan and others.

The Ambassador emphasized that the Muslims of Crimea were forced to move to other cities of Ukraine due to the Russian occupation of the peninsula.

A separate block of the interview was dedicated to the largest Mosque in Ukraine "Al-Rahma" with an area about 3200 sq m., which allows to allocate simultaneously up to 3 thousand worshipers.

At the request of the newspaper, the Ambassador briefed about the recipe of the Ukrainian soup "borsh" and dumplings - an essential attributes of our national cuisine.
