In the festive edition of the Arabic newspaper "Al-Raya", which was dedicated to the Holy month of Ramadan, an exclusive interview with Ambassador of Ukraine to the State of Qatar, which Mr. Yevhen Mykytenko was published. Among other things, His Excellency emphasized that this sacred month for Muslims around the globe, including Ukraine, symbolises the time of forgiveness, love and mutual support.

In the interview with the Head of ukrainian Diplomatic Mission His Excellency draws attention to the fact that this year Ukraine marks the 72-d Anniversary of the deportation of the Crimean Tatars. Thus, Ambassador accentuated attention to the systematic violations of the rights of Crimean Tatars in Crimea which is occupied by the Russian Federation, supporting actions aimed at discrimination of Crimean Tatars, their intimidation and harassment, restriction of political and civil rights and freedoms, including the freedom of opinion, conscience and belief.

The Ambassador expressed hope for continuation of the friendly Muslim countries`, including Qatar, support to the Muslims of Ukraine, including the Crimean Tatars, by the monarchies of the Gulf with whom they enjoy long lasting traditions of cooperation and mutual assistance.

          The Head of Ukrainian diplomatic mission expressed special gratitude to the Red Crescent of Qatar for allocating during 2015-2016 a Humanitarian assistance to the refugees from Donbass equal to $ 400 thousand USD.
