On March 3, 2019 Ambassador of Ukraine to the State of Qatar Yevhen Mykytenko held a meeting with Deputy Executive Director of the Qatar National Library Dr. Stuart Hamilton and Chief Librarian of QNL Mr.Patrice Landry.

During the meeting the sides discussed the ways and means of developing cooperation  between the Qatar National Library and Ukrainian national libraries.

In the light of 148^th anniversary of the birth of the prominent Ukrainian writer and public activist Lesya Ukrainka as well as ahead of the celebrations dedicated to 205^th anniversary of the birth of the greatest Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko, the Ambassador donated to the Qatar National Library Collection of poems of Lesya Ukrainka and book of selected works of Taras Shevchenko, translated into Arabic language.

The Ambassador also handed over photo chronicle (in English), dedicated to the 100-th anniversary of the 1917-1922 Ukrainian National Revolution.

The QNL top management expressed their appreciation for such a donation that enriched the Library’s collection and assured that these books and materials will become available for the QNL members in upcoming days.
