On December 15, 2020, Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine Ihor Petrashko held telephone conversation with Minister of Municipality and Environment of the State of Qatar Abdulla Al Subaie.

The interlocutors discussed the issue of trade and economic relations between the two states and prospects for investment cooperation.

Despite the quarantine measures and restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Ukraine and Qatar in 2020 managed to achieve the highest volume of bilateral trade in the history of diplomatic relations between the two countries. According to the results of 9 months of 2020 trade turnover between Ukraine and Qatar reached almost 100 million US dollars.
