On February 17-18, 2020, Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Vladyslav Kryklii paid a working visit to the State of Qatar to participate in the Qatar Maritime & Logistics Summit 2020.

While delivering a speech at the event, the Minister stressed that Ukraine has ambitious plans to develop national transport infrastructure and participate in international logistics, and also announced the successful completion of the first concession tenders in the ports of Ukraine, one of which was won by Qatar's company QTerminals.

Vladyslav Kryklii underlined that the positive experience of the concession will be gradually implemented in aviation, road construction, railways and other fields of transport infrastructure.

During his visit, the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine also held bilateral meetings with the Minister of Transport and Communications of the State of Qatar, H.E. Jassim Al-Sulaiti, the Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Airways, Akbar Al Baker, and with the Assistant Secretary General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), Mr. Lawrence Barchue. During the meetings the sides discussed issues of deepening Ukrainian-Qatari cooperation in the field of transport infrastructure, aviation and expansion of the bilateral legal base in the relevant sphere, as well as the cooperation between Ukraine and the International Maritime Organization.
