On November 12, 2013 the Ambassador of Ukraine in the State of Qatar Mr. Yevhen Mykytenko met with the Director of the Department of engineering projects of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Qatar's Mr. Abdulrahman Al- Malki.

During the meeting the Ukrainian diplomat stressed the interest of leading Ukrainian construction and engineering companies to participate in projects pertining to the World Cup 2022 in Qatar. In particular, the attention of the Qatari side was drawn to significant practical experience of Ukrainian national enterprises acquired in the light of the preparation to the matches of the European Football Championship in 2012 .

The Qatari official stressed the presence of wide opportunities for establishing practical cooperation with Ukrainian companies which specialize in organizing international sports events.

The Qatari side was handed over the appropriate information and reference materials on a number of Ukrainian companies willing to participate in the preparations for the World Cup 2022 in Qatar. Both parties also agreed to organize shortly a number of meetings for the representatives of Ukrainian businesses with the top-management of the NOC of Qatar.
