During January 11-13, 2014 a working visit of the Director General of the International Clinic of Rehabilitation (town of Truskavets) prof. Volodymyr Kozyavkin took place.

The main purpose of the visit was to establish cooperation with public health facilities in Qatar over issues related to the provision of rehabilitative care to children with cerebral palsy and other disorders of the central nervous system.

During the visit, the Ukrainian delegation held constructive talks with the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health of Qatar Mr. Saleh Al Merri and a group of Qatari rehabilitators, upon the results of which the parties have agreed to send to Ukraine a delegation consisting of local doctors to undergo preparatory training. An agreement was also reached on the reception by the International Clinic of Rehabilitation in Truskavets of few patients with cerebral palsy among the Qatari children for the sake of their examination and provision of skilled medical care.

Subsequently, the parties agreed to identify the main areas of cooperation on the basis of the Memorandum of Cooperation between Ukraine and Qatar in the health sector, which is planned for signing during 2014.

A visit to one of the leading policlinics in Doha was also organized, where sides held talks on the possible ways of launching practical cooperation between this medical establishment and the International Clinic of Rehabilitation.

The Ambassador of Ukraine in the State of Qatar Mr. Yevhen Mykytenko and other representatives of the Ukrainian embassy in Qatar were present at all meetings and negotiations.
