Between March 01-03 Doha (Qatar) hosted the 11th annual NATO conference on non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, which was the first event of this kind in the history of the North Atlantic Alliance  to be organized outside Europe.

  Ukraine`s delegation, composed of representatives of the Mission of Ukraine to NATO and the Embassy of Ukraine in Qatar, was headed by the Head of the Main Department for Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the  Administration of the President of Ukraine Mr.Ihor Zhovkva.

On the margins of this event, with the assistance of Ukrainian diplomatic mission in Doha, negotiations of Mr. Ihor Zhovkva with the director of the Europian department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar Ambassador Khalid Al Mansouri were organized. During those talks the parties discussed the current state of Ukrainian-Qatari cooperation and the considerable potential for its development. The parties also discussed the situation in Ukraine and the latest developments in the Middle East.

During the meeting prospects for Ukrainian and Qatari leadership official visits to Doha and Kyiv respectively were reviewed.
