On March 9 Ukraine and the entire world commemorate the anniversary of the great son of the Ukrainian people, famous fighter for the freedom and independence of our country Taras Shevchenko.
It should be noted that the works of the great poet were translated into many languages, including Arabic.

One of the most famous Arabic translation is the outstanding achievement of the Lebanese writer and literary critic Mikhail Noaimeh who in 1906-1911 studied in Poltava seminary.

The translated by Mikhail Noaimeh Shevchenko's "Testament" (given below) is still kept at the museum in Kanev city.

Taras Shevchenko will be remembered by our descendants who always will reminisce  his cherished words:

In a large family,

In free, and new one

Remember me

by kind and quiet word.
