Between April 26-28, 2015 a Ukrainian parliamentary delegation consisting of the members of the Inter-Parliamentary group for relations with the State of Qatar in the Parliament of Ukraine headed by the leader of the named group Mr. Andriy Artemenko visited Qatar. The delegation included also MPs of Ukraine Mr. Andriy Teteruk and Mr. Denys Silantyev.

In the first day, with the assistance of the Embassy of Ukraine in Qatar, the Qatari Prime-Minister, Minister of Internal Affairs of Qatar, Sheikh Abdullah Al Thani and Minister of Energy and Industry Mohammed Al Sada held meetings with the Ukrainian delegation.

On April 27-th, 2015 the Parliamentary Delegation of Ukraine was received by the Chairman of the Advisory Council of Qatar "Al-Shura" Mr. Mohammed Al Khuleyfi, Minister of State for Defence Major General Hamad Al Atyyya, Deputy Foreign Minister of Qatar Mr. Abdullah Al Rumeyhi.

During the talks the parties discussed a range of issues of bilateral cooperation in trade, economic, investment, energy, tourism, medical and sports fields. Special attention was focused on the mechanisms of activation of inter-parliamentary cooperation and expanding the legal framework. In addition, the parties discussed in detail the preparations for a series of joint high level activities during the current year.

Ukrainian and Qatari delegations reviewed the situation in Ukraine, the Gulf, and exchanged views on a variety of issues of regional and international agenda.

In the meetings and negotiations the Ambassador of Ukraine Mr. Yevhen Mykytenko and the members of the Ukrainian diplomatic mission took part.

This visit has become the first parliamentary visit in the history of the bilateral relations between the two friendly states.
