On October 5-th, 2015  Doha (Qatar) hosted the opening ceremony of the 18th world boxing championship among amateurs  AIBA, which is a qualifying tournament in all disciplines to be presented at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

The competition involved more than 250 athletes from 74 countries, including nine fighters from Ukraine.

Experts believe that best chances to gain championship`s medals belong to boxers from Cuba, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.

The final matches of the Championship will be held on October 15 this year.

Staff of the Embassy of Ukraine in Qatar and our compatriots living and working in the city of Doha, attended the opening ceremony.
