On August 2-nd, 2016 the Ambassador of Ukraine Mr. Yevhen Mykytenko and members of the Ukrainian embassy to Qatar visited the headquarters of the non-governmental charitable organization "RAF" and met with its executive director Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim.
The main attention was paid to the possible participation of the mentioned organization in humanitarian projects aimed at the assistance of refugees and internally displaced persons from Donbass who suffered as a result of Russian aggression in the eastern Ukraine.
Also parameters of possible cooperation in the provision of targeted assistance to Ukraine muslims, including representatives of Crimean Tatars who were forced to leave their places of residence in the Crimea because of the annexation of the peninsula by Russia were discussed.
In turn, Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim confirmed the willingness of his organization to consider the proposals of the Ukrainian side to implement in Ukraine with the support of "RAF" different humanitarian projects for social purposes, such as building of temporary housing for refugees, construction of field or stationary hospitals, clinics, homes for orphans etc.
In 2015, "RAF" charitable Fund, which is headed by a member of the ruling family of Qatar, Sheikh Thani Al Thani implemented more than 3 thousand humanitarian projects worth 114 mln. USD. The majority of these projects has been implemented in Africa and Asia as well as in some European countries.
Funds allocated by "RAF" for humanitarian projects abroad are formed mainly by voluntary contributions and donations by the residents of Qatar.
