On January 27-28, 2018, Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Volodymyr Omelyan paid a working visit to the State of Qatar. The delegation included, in particular, Ms.Tetyana Romanovska, Director General of Danylo Halytskyi International Airport "Lviv" and Vladyslav Ilyin, Deputy Director of International airport “Kharkiv”.

During the meeting of Ukrainian delegation with Minister of Transport and Communications of the State of Qatar Jasim Al Sulaiti, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Akbar Al Baker, Heads of Qatar Civil Aviation Authority and Qatar Ports Management Company "Mwani Qatar" possibilities of intensification of bilateral cooperation were discussed.

The delegation from Ukraine also visited a number of sports facilities that are being built in the context of Qatar's preparation for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, among them the new seaport "Hamad Port", "Doha Metro - Qatar Rail" project, Hamad International Airport.
