On November 19th, 2018 in the city of Doha at the initiative of the Ukrainian side Ambassador Yevhen Mykytenko and Counselor for Economic Affairs of the Embassy Volodymyr Kuruts met with Mr.Ahmed Ahen, Director of the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Trade and Industry of the State of Qatar and other representatives of the Ministry.

During the meeting the sides discussed the results of the First session of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on economic, commercial and technical cooperation, which was held in Doha, 14-15 of November, 2018 and co-chaired by First Vice-Prime-Minister, Minister of economic development and trade of Ukraine H.E. Stepan Kubiv and Minister of trade and industry of the State of Qatar H.E. Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari. The parties agreed on concrete measures to implement the provisions of the Protocol, signed on the results of the First session of the Commission.

As it was noted during the meeting, both parties could manage to promptly complete all necessary procedures and organize the Inauguration meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission only seven months after the signing of the Agreement on the Establishment of the Joint Commission, which took place during the official visit of President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko to the State of Qatar on 19-20 of March, 2018.
